Passage:
Colossians 1:9-14
For this reason, since the day we
heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you
with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and
understanding that the Spirit gives,[a] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every
good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so
that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who
has qualified you[b] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of
light. 13 For he has rescued us from the
dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Notes
Just like Paul prays for
the people of Colossae, We need to pray to the Lord
- to understand His will through the wisdom and understanding that the Holy Spirit
gives us so that we can live a life pleasing to the Lord and bear much fruit.
- to be strengthened by Him to have endurance and patience.
- to thank Him for the inheritance to the Kingdom of light where we have
redemption and forgivenes of sins through the Son who rescued us.
Prayer
Abba Father,
You rescued me from darkness and gave me the inheritance to your
kingdom where there is redemption and forgiveness. I have not done anything to
deserve this. It is only by your grace. Enable me to surrender myself to your
will and operate on your strength. I thank you for rescuing me from eternal
death and planting this Hope in me. I seek your blessings to share this joy
with others. Help me to overcome my weaknesses and proclaim the good news to
all the people you have placed in my sphere of influence.
In Jesus matchless name
Amen
